Feathers – A Novel by Kylie Stewart
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
A child would never have to endure so much cruelty, anguish, pain, betrayal from whom she should trust the most. Sold for drugs, mom got rid of her and sold her to animals who kept her In a nightmare.
That’s the story of Charlotte before that old lady bought her. Bought her to save her.
At first it was hard to trust everyone.
Coming from an abusive environment and sure not to trust men again, little Lottie struggles, when she has to live in the same roof as Hawk, old lady’s grandson. Hawk had an hard time of his own.
Connections are met in the most uncommon of places and yet it’s a long journey to recover from any type of abuse.
Charlotte is an old soul and is Hawk who recognizes her resilience, she is stronger than she imagines, but it takes time and patience.
Together they learn how to gather those feathers, with passion, with desire, to find happiness.
To be free.
The pages went by unusually fast as the story unfolds. Now that Feathers has a true meaning, I’ll be waiting for Wings.
I recommend this story to everyone.
