Say no

Say no

My fear if I let them know
I’m fighting constantly
with no hope in understanding

I’m alone in my bubble
afraid to say no.

The feeling of betrayal on the one’s eye
that looked up for me
not because our story, our friendship
but because I’m getting out of my comfort zone.

Through those windows

I dream in color

Through those windows

I see my savior

Through those windows

I see my reflexion

My eyes search myself

and see freedom

“There was a boy once. A boy who wasn’t strong enough to save me when I was taken.”
“There was a girl once. A girl called Tess Snow who sat with me in the dark waiting to be sold.”
“There was an owner once. An owner who bought me, entrapped me, and made me his unwilling goddess.”
Eleanor Grace is a naïve dreamer. Trusting and young, she believes her book-loving boyfriend can save her when her freedom is snatched and sold. Squirreled away to an island at midnight, delivered to a man even darkness won’t touch, she’s bound by a contract.
Five men.
Five fantasies.
Five pieces of her soul.
Sullivan Sinclair is the giver of fantasies. Any wish, any desire—he is the master at quenching even the filthiest appetites. His private paradise and perfectly trained goddesses are there for one purpose: to ensure every guest is extremely well satisfied.
He bought her.
He trapped her.
She belongs to him.

“You’re saying you’re a loss?”
“I’m saying I’ll cause you untold problems if you keep me here.” I narrowed my eyes. “I’m not afraid of you.”
He stepped toward me quickly, crowding me, bringing naked, masculine flesh and scorching body heat.
I backpedalled, losing ground, hating myself the second I tripped.
He laughed coldly. “Not afraid? I think you’re fucking petrified.”
Digging my toes into the sand, I cocked my chin. “I meant what I said, Sully Sinclair. Keep me trapped against my consent and I will make you pay. I’ll find some way to curse—”
“Curse me?” His arm shot up, his hand sinking into my hair. In a single heartbeat, we went from apart to linked. His fingers curled tight around the strands, tugging my scalp, sending more chills scattering. “You’ve already cursed me. You cursed me the second you arrived.”
I tried to pull away, but his hold turned aggressive.
“Let me go.”
His eyes flashed navy in the darkness as his tongue ran over his bottom lip. “Let you go? I should, shouldn’t I?” His stare landed on my mouth, and lust became a sapphire fire in his gaze. “Too bad I’m not going to.”

Hope to shine

I’ve enjoyed listening to these two narrators

They did a good job helping me catch up to the story.

Believing it’s your time, trusting your gut when nobody else sees It.

Hope it is your time to shine after all you’ve been through, it’s your life’s dream.

Will two strangers have the power to fulfill it?

All we got left

All we got left it’s to forgive to move on.

The slap we got when we were 3 or 4 years old,
not sure what just happened,
for our parents to yell at us and hurt us.

We learn to forgive or at least forget,
so we can live another day smiling.

We wake up to the same parents who hold us
when we are sick, when we are sad.

We learn to say yes and say sorry,
we’re taught to understand what’s right and wrong.

Confused that outside the right and wrong are different.
We believe our home is safe.

When we get old, our home is where we are.
All we got left it’s to forgive to survive.

Today’s prompt: write a poem about a journey you’ve taken.

I’ve started my journey

With opens arms

With open heart

To let it be crushed

and my wings get broken

Never thought

I’d survive this loneliness

But I’m still here in the crowd…

Misunderstood with

no connection to hold

No kind memories

no worth to happiness

Nothing feels home

Nor destiny

Nor freedom

By me

All poetry

My Review :: The Body Painter by Pepper Winter’s

Everyone who knows me know that Pepper Winter’s is one of my favorite authors. So I had expectations about this new book.

I love to paint so this was all up my alley.

It was not a good start for a book, too many repetitions I think anyone could resume it in a few pages.

I was confused about how the characters met first. So maybe I was distracted or not in the mood but all this nonsense didn’t captivate me at all. Their push and pull was really frustrating.

A girl who didn’t listen, who ignore all signs.

Let anyone treat her that way… and the boy, not sure he was man enough, we all have problems so deal with it!

There! I’m a little annoyed about all this.

Struggling from start to finish.

This book shouldn’t be rushed in my opinion.

I wonder what will bring the next.

It’s only my opinion and I don’t want to spoil it further.

Have you read it?

What are your thoughts?

To be or not to be a writer

Reading a lot of books, we learn something about the writers. I’m calling them writers because I’m more comfortable with that word. And I’m focusing on them. Those who dream to write.

We see them grow eventually and it’s great.

Quite often I realize not everyone grows in the right direction.

They have a path to choose and unfortunately for most of them, it shows they not choose wisely.

Books become numbers.

Stories become targets.

I’m worried.

They loose focus and they will loose everything they’ve been trying to build.

I know not everyone is lucky to be on the spotlight but since you’re there, make the most of it and do it well. Be original, be authentic and do not get too much influence from others. Be different and stay true to us and to yourself.

I’m not a writer, just perusing through some kind of poetry but everything I do I make it special, if not for me, for others.

I had to write about this because…

I’m still on a funk, can’t you tell?

Help me get back to reading!

Tell me what do you desire?

What grabs your reader’s attention?

Writers/ Authors you got one chance at a first impression!

Talking about book covers. Don’t believe fans don’t care about the cover… Yeah they care about what you write, for me, book covers matter. I’ve been more selective through the years  and some covers are a no no.

I know is not always your choice, sometimes it’s up with the publisher but there are rules… You’ll never win fans over if you can’t get them to read in the first place. Good cover designs make them choose, and sometimes read your description and then hit the jackpot. If you’re consistent with your choice and theme. All your fans will one-click.

Don’t waste your time in a cover that no one notices. Then again what do readers notice? Your name, if they already know your stuff. If not what ? Book covers, in Romance or any other genre but mostly Romance, (the genre I’ve search more) it seems to be a pattern. And I hate it.

Hot guy with killer abs. Girl in lingerie, a kiss, an embrace. Rolling my eyes

Not particularly original, right? Don’t be afraid to be different. But try to look professional. Don’t look like a template.  What makes a good impression? Simplicity and originality. Don’t be afraid to be different, aim unique. Don’t be obvious, but don’t be invisible. Be bold, you are creative at writing right? So why not? What makes it special or unique?

Show me your book covers!
