Review: It Ends with Us

It Ends with Us
It Ends with Us by Colleen Hoover

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Naked truth.
The question I ask the most, but terrified of the answer, the effect it has on me. The how right I was about my instincts.

Sometimes I just walk around the precipice so I don’t get allured to fall. Although I like the invitation…

Most things are so beautiful, but somehow kind of scary, when you push all the buttons. Don’t say I didn’t warn you! But be brave.

It’s how awesome this story is!

Naked truth? Maybe you are not ready for it!

Enjoy!

Review: The Harvest Moon

The Harvest Moon
The Harvest Moon by David Neth

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

My second read/listen from David Neth.

I’m going deep in the witchcraft community, this is how this author writing lets me in, it’s so easy.

I met some characters I’ve really enjoyed. I like the way the story is written. Makes you relate to some of our strengths and weaknesses. It’s like they could survive in a normal life, they could be my neighbor friends πŸ™‚ and I’d love to help them.

I liked how Danielle and Simon met and how they interact together and try to survive
this menacing take on their family.

I wish Holly and Drew well in whatever relation they might possibly have.
I also loved Toxanna’s name and evilness. no matter what family you’re born, what side you’re on, you fight to survive. Great character.

Seeking justice in this dark world it’s hard, but I still have hope.

I’ve enjoyed this adventure! Ready for another πŸ™‚

Review: Damned if I Do

Damned if I Do
Damned if I Do by Erin Hayes

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I’ll add my review in the weekend …probably not …but today πŸ™‚

I had a great weekend! :))

Damned if I Do is my second book by Erin Hayes. As her most recent work, it’s interesting to know how she’s progressing, in my opinion, as a storyteller. Good job, well done!

It’s a paranormal romance, my second one to listen to.
I’m not that used to vampire/slayer stories in books πŸ™‚

The story flows really well, even though the characters had a past
we don’t get to learn a lot about, (maybe in an earlier first book??),
I’ve connected with the characters in no time. They are very likable!

A solid but dangerous world, full of action, drama, strengths and weaknesses, unexpected twists… you’ll see… oh the life and death situations.

Very emotional when it comes to family, our values and relying on the ones you didn’t expect…

A copy of this book was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review that I gladly write right now!

Would love to read/listen to all of your stories. Glad I met you and helped you name Lucas πŸ˜‰

Review: The Full Moon

The Full Moon
The Full Moon by David Neth

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This is the first work I’ve read/listen from this author, who kindly gifted me his story.
My curiosity for Urban Fantasy, Paranormal, Magical Romance πŸ™‚ led me to this very honest review. Bare with me. I haven’t read that much Urban Fantasy but the setting appealed to me,
an interesting premise. I was very curious.
First, it was funny to listen to a male narrator tell a story through the perspective of a female lead character. The first chapters kept my attention, I liked the interaction in the book.
The way the characters were described along with the story line, was satisfying and kept me engaged.

Although I had some questions…

How the hell the dumbest Witch learns the best spells? Lucky girl!
Fantasy, right? Really! πŸ™‚
How was she not suspicious?
Was it so easy to believe that Lawyer?
So many warnings… (I’m shaking my head πŸ™‚ …)

At the beginning Kathy had questions but after some blurry visions, powerful spells, adding her sad dull life to the mix, she gets completely deeply involved. Magic!
I don’t think she would last long with all those attacks without Will’s help, spell, whatever that was, but very lucky Witch indeed!

I was very apprehensive with Will, something was wrong.

Another question… Freeze and tele(trans)porting would solve many issues if you remember you have powerful magic… they were struggling with money, Mind and Time magic would do the trick.
Seemed a little childish at times but well, who doesn’t want to be a kid again?

Then two sisters break their relationship because of a Dark Knight… bad boy, Will…
Someone they don’t know at all and sisters, Sisters! Know each other since they were born, same blood, lots of love, family? Besides they are Witches! Huh I didn’t feel the warmth… maybe because they were magical and were hiding from the “normal”… but where was the emotion, the feelings?

By now it seems the story goes full speed, however I like the way the action and the different scenarios blend. Until everybody wants to kill everybody πŸ™‚
And no ones goes to work anymore πŸ™‚

It was fun! I’ve enjoyed this read, I think it will keep evolving!

Thank you David!

Review: Kill it with Magic

Kill it with Magic
Kill it with Magic by J.A. Cipriano

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Almost 4 stars!

Why? Because I like the writing, the pacing was fun. So many adventures in between!

Kill It With Magic is book one in the Lillim Callina Chronicles by J.A. Cipriano.

The Author kindly offer me a free read.

I don’t normally read β€œYA” Fantasy books. It was my first.

The book starts out with lots of crazy action and it goes on until the end.

There were so many characters and some came up from nowhere and I was a little lost…had no idea why they were there and part of the story, hopefully they will be revealed in the future. I think there is a previous book about Lillim…

Talking about Lillim. I liked Lillim, she was easy to like, although she was always fighting for her name, after that not forgotten reincarnation, why did people remember.
It was really bad …I guess.

It was just funny, how she was that strong, had a lot of magic, but young to know how to use it, so much power, no time to learn, just react, to help an ex boyfriend…hmm…getting almost killed and be 100% renewed the next day or hour and getting nauseated all the time!!!! hahahaha

Teletransportation by phone, wow! Like a super dangerous roller coaster with no end!

The read or listening was enjoyable, the narrator did help with the pace of the story.

Had a “Kill Bill” fantasy magic paranormal supernatural moment πŸ™‚

Review: Consolation

Consolation
Consolation by Corinne Michaels

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4,5*

After reading some chapters, I was already engaged!

It was easy to read/listen. Good pace I mean.
It’s hard to read a story like this one.
So many families struggle with this situation everyday.

I was sad for Natalie and thrilled that someone like Liam would save her,
as much as she wanted to saved him.

Very emotional story, tragic news, a birth, a funeral
and to think of getting your life back together in between, when grief takes time…

Are you aloud to forget and move on, build a new life,
new beginning and a lot of expectations.
Or you don’t forget and try to find love again. Or consolation…

With some secrets hard to hear.
You don’t want to forget that.
Life is full of mysteries.

It doesn’t end here, so on to the next book!

Review: Dirty Red

Dirty Red
Dirty Red by Tarryn Fisher

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I need to read Caleb’s POV to make some sense, review later…

(Later…)

Ok, I’m ready! No I’m not.

I wasn’t… When I was told, the author really wrote about
this awful character named, Leah.
Saying her name, tastes nasty.

Yeah that one! Red head, stupid, need to grow up kid
with some twisted plans and plots to hold on to Caleb,
the love of her life…okay love of her fairy tale…
Does she knows what love is, by the way? And at what cost…

I was surprise how hollow Caleb’s and Leah’s relationship was.
By Olivia’s eyes in the first book, it was great…
she was willing to sacrifice… but for this?
I was a wreck! Very emotional!
I didn’t know if I’d love them or if I’d hate them!
I didn’t know whom to believe.

I felt like Caleb for a while, yeah probably needed the amnesia too!

Insert dark period here… in real life I was numb.

I was not having my HEA was I?
No! Of course not, I needed to bleed or have a brain meltdown first!

Caled did what he had to do, he made a mess earlier so he had to fix it.
A baby on the way well, got to stand up for the family, right!?
He was clever but blind holding that baby…
Family… The name Seth, Caleb’s brother saved me from all the pain.

I was praying for a break up, for something!
A glimpse of happiness.
So twisted, mostly, between romance reads we hope
for the good guys to get back together, right?

This time I wanted chaos.

Devilish smile.

I was thrilled there’s was another book in this series to swallow!

Review: The Opportunist

The Opportunist
The Opportunist by Tarryn Fisher

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4,7 *

Oh man!

I know I’ve picked this book because I know how different Tarryn’s stories can be!
I was about to know how different and challenging read I would get.

I try not to read anything about it before I choose the book.

As a human, I hope for a sweet end, not happy ever after but satisfying and real, mostly because I don’t want to feel that lonely in the dark .

This one almost killed me. seriously!

I’ve finished the book a month ago, only now I have the courage to talk about it.
I have to tell you that I do not cry very often and never for a book. I’ve changed.

We grow up seeking forgiveness or redemption. We have to carry our mistakes, our scars…but with time the pain will fade, but no, not now…not happening!
Shed some tears as part of a release sensation… it feels good now.

Awoke from a nightmare that became only a bad dream.

Only Tarryn’s moments keep me on the edge, make me experience a turmoil of feelings I can’t hide!
If the characters are so much alike me, I’m sure I need some kind of therapy after.

Thank God there is a sequel, because I need to know!

Review : Sin & Suffer

Sin & Suffer (Pure Corruption MC, #2)

Sin & Suffer

by Pepper Winters

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Got to give an extraordinary review … maybe later but you can guess I loved it!

OK, just breathe! Let’s do it!

Vengeance was close, it was time! But even with all the equations sorted, no one can’t know for sure, if all of this will end well.

Math is always right but math can’t fight the real truth and right the wrongs in life.

We can use the bad and get better, do better…

But vengeance or justice can come with some damage.

Don’t know if I believe it, if wanting justice will give me closure, could I forget my past, could I believe it was just a bad dream? Could I go away and never look back? Can we be safe from it all?

The past made them who they are today. Not sure if their memories were better before than now!

Sacrifices and loss, come together, when we want more.

Damn! Kill and Cleo went through a lot!

Hard work and stories in common, friends or guardian angels hang together.

Good or Evil stand out. We choose.

At last, free from the nightmares, only scars stayed, they still had to bare them but after all, they found peace and together, life couldn’t be better. Oh that was a ride… deep breath…

They could smile again and remember they once smiled together.

Don’t miss out this story!
