Crack Pop Bonk Hiss ( drum roll sound)

Getting Played is the second book in the Getting Some series by Emma Chase. It was released in audio first so it was fun to listen before the book.

If you loved Getting Schooled and you have been waiting for Dean’s story … drum roll… Oh my, Dean.

S for sexy, S for Superman drummer who keeps a low key profile in a band during the summer. S for smart and I said / wrote sexy again, nerd Clark Kent high school teacher and football coach the rest of those winter days.

Dean’s not boyfriend material, but meets the woman. They spend the best night together but yes but forget to keep their numbers, so goodbye until they meet again – that special woman, mom of one of his new students. What?

Dean’s reputation is not the best and that special woman Lainey never thought she would see him again or dream he could be her son’s new teacher. And, and surprise! She’s pregnant, Dean played the drums well that night.

He drops the stick, maybe not. She gave him time to think it through and he really wants to try because of her and her son plus the one on its way. Will they trust one another? Do you want to find out?

Great chemistry, funny. Loved to listen first this lol rom-com. Glad these voices were chosen to narrate this wonderful story.

Review: Overruled

I was so in love with Drew that reading/listening to Overruled, felt… fresh OK… but really really different. Was it a good different?

Well… I really disliked Stanton, not the most appealing, nothing like Drew but all of the asshole. I hate the way he thought, his believes, trying to convince his childhood lover that they were meant to be together. But on his own terms.

In pursuit of his dreams, he spends his life obtaining his law degree, sleeping with other women, with a bonus… returning his hometown to occasionally visit his baby girl (He becomes a Dad in High school) and continues to bang his girlfriend on occasion, Jenny… he never marries her, never felt the need… like they made a deal, who was winning?…geeezz

Once this arrangement was threatened by Jenny’s marriage invitation (of course she was over with him, who would last?…) He then returns home and tries to destroy all Jenny’s plans, because she was his? Plus he gets his current sleeping buddy Sofia, to go with him as backup?… Unbelievable!

I really liked Sofia’s character, it kept me going.

Stanton doesn’t know how to be a dad… really?! What a jerk! Did I mention ass hole! After 10 years or so he acts like he is the kid!

Does he redeemed himself? NO.

The story goes around a woman he doesn’t end up with… what was the point of all this?

The author does a great job writing it, great love scenes and interaction.
I can easily understand she wants to create grounded, successful and lovable … maybe not, characters, even when they step away from the most important commitments in their lives…

Maybe this story wasn’t for me… maybe I’m being a little harsh, but it’s my honest opinion.

I’ll give it a try to the next book, but I don’t want to get stuck with another Stanton.

Review: Tied

Obviously I was looking for more entertaining Drew Evans!
His POV was steamy sexy, very funny and sweet!

What were Drew and Kate up to this time? The title says it all… probably, well…

We pick up the story and find that this lovely couple are still in love or even more, they worked out some of their issues and now trust takes a very important part in their relationship.

Baby James, their son is the center of the universe.

In preparation of their wedding, there were some unexpected events in Las Vegas, but for the most part, this story was drama free.

I was expecting more than an extend epilogue from “Twisted”. But you see, gotta love Drew with a baby! And we learn how men think, what they like or dislike in a woman, he actually wants to teach us!

And Drew’s voice (Sebastian York’s voice) does crazy things to me! 🙂 I’ll listen to anything…

Was this book necessary? No, but Emma writes this funny sexy stories and I know I’ll spend a good time and have a lot of fun!

I’m sad to see these characters say goodbye!

Happily ever after, let’s see.
